The Fiat Abarth 500 R3T is powered by 1368 cm3 engine equipped with a Garret GT 1446 fixed geometry turbocharger. The two combine for a maximum output of 180 hp (132 kw) at 5500 rpm. The Fiat Abarth 500 R3T comes with a six-speed sequential gearbox with a twin plate clutch and self-locking differential. The new suspension may be adjusted to fit “each driver’s individual driving style.”. The Abarth Fiat 500 R3T also features a 17-inch multi-spoke OZ rims, Brembo disc brakes, six-point safety belts and a welded roll-bar help keep driver and navigator safe.
The new Abarth 500 R3T will lend its name to a promotional rally trophy in 2010, due to join the two track events (European and Italian) planned for the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse. The Abarth Fiat 500 R3T rally version will be type approved for Group R3T, the category for turbocharged cars up to 1600 cm3 in capacity.
